Mine-cycle Productivity Modelling

Using discrete-event and mine-cycle simulation to identify bottlenecks and test productivity decisions across mechanised mining systems.

Mine productivity is an outcome of interacting machines, people, delays and operating rules. This project uses simulation to make those interactions visible and to test changes before they are made underground.

Dion de Villiers developed multiple mine case studies. Hloni Manyakoana’s platinum-production model adds a detailed Bathopele case developed with Sibanye-Stillwater.
