Professor Francois Malan is the programme’s Research Competence Leader for Mining Engineering and helps host RAMMS at the University of Pretoria. His work connects rock engineering with the mechanisation questions studied across the programme.
He has supervised research on UG2 cutting and contributes to current fractured-rock stability work.
