Traction-estimation Digital Twin

A terrain-aware algorithm that estimates longitudinal and lateral traction for a skid-steered mining vehicle from onboard measurements and a physical model.

The prototype infers terrain-dependent traction and motion-resistance parameters while a skid-steered vehicle operates. Its anisotropic formulation distinguishes longitudinal from lateral interaction, improving prediction during turns on soft terrain.

Utility pathway

The research implementation is not yet a public application. A hosted version would need a safe sample dataset, transparent filtering and calibration steps, and an explanation of which vehicle and terrain conditions fall within the validated domain.
